Geely Auto’s (HKG: 0175) sub-brand Geely Galaxy will begin pre-sales of its new hybrid sedan A7 in three days, continuing its strong product cycle over the past year.

The A7 will begin pre-sales on July 11, Geely Galaxy announced today on Weibo, without providing further details about the model.

The car is the first plug-in hybrid sedan developed based on Geely’s GEA architecture (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture), featuring the Leishen 2.0 hybrid system and Flyme Auto intelligent cockpit, according to previously disclosed information.

It was listed in China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s regulatory catalog in May, showing its dimensions as 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,845 mm.

The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) model is equipped with a 1,499 ml engine with a peak power output of 82 kW.

It is powered by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, with suppliers including CALB and CATL.

On June 3, Geely Galaxy shared several images of the A7 on Weibo, beginning to warm up for the new model.

The A7 achieves a fuel consumption of only 2-liters level per 100 kilometers when running on low battery power, and a combined range of up to 2,100 kilometers when fully fueled and charged, Geely Galaxy said on June 3.

Geely Galaxy was originally a new product lineup officially launched on February 23, 2023.

On March 3 this year, Geely announced that Geely Galaxy had been upgraded to a new brand.

Starting from October 2024, sales of the Geometry lineup have been incorporated into Geely Galaxy.

Geely Galaxy has seen strong growth over the past year, selling 548,408 vehicles in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 232.00 percent, according to data released on July 1.

The strong performance of this sub-brand has driven Geely’s stellar results.

In the first half of the year, Geely sold 1,409,180 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 47.45 percent.

Geely announced on July 1 in a Hong Kong Stock Exchange filing that it had raised its annual sales target by about 11 percent, from 2.71 million units to 3 million units.
